Applications for the 2007 - 2008 Teach in China program are accepted beginning January 1st. The application deadline is April 30th (or until all positions are filled). Note: Applicants with one or more years of teaching experience or a graduate degree in education (or related field) will have their applications processed on a rolling basis beginning January 1st. Applications for those without teaching experience or a graduate degree will be processed on a rolling basis beginning April 15th. 1. After receiving your completed application, we'll determine whether your educational and work experience qualify you for the program. Then we'll contact you to arrange a preliminary interview (in person or by phone) in which we’ll discuss the program and your placement preferences. 2. Once you’ve had your interview, we’ll discuss your candidacy with one or more Chinese schools. Then we’ll send you a summary of your placement options. 3. After getting your placement choices, you’ll have 10 business days to confirm and submit the first portion of the program fee. This means you have the benefit of knowing exactly where your teaching assignment is before paying us the program fee. 4. Upon receiving the first installment of the program fee, we’ll mail you the Foreign Experts Program Guide and information about your travel arrangements, the orientation program and how to prepare for your trip. 5. The second installment of the program fee is due four weeks after our receipt of the first payment or by May 30th, whichever is later. 6. You’ll receive updates and information about how you should be preparing throughout the spring and summer. We’ll send you information about obtaining your visa, taking necessary health precautions and more. 7. In late August you’ll depart for the 5-day Shanghai orientation at your host institution in which you’ll learn about your school, meet your co-workers and participate in ESL workshops. 8. Beginning in early September you’ll meet your new students and settle into your new life. While your day-to-day responsibilities are with your employer, we’ll be here (in China and the U.S.) to help you however we can. |
